Sharpening Skills: Helping Kids Thrive – Behavioral Support and School Advocacy

This course equips CASA volunteers with the knowledge and tools to effectively support children experiencing behavioral and emotional challenges within educational settings. Through this training, participants will learn how to advocate for school-based interventions, promote educational stability, and collaborate meaningfully with educators and support staff.

By the end of the course, volunteers will gain a deeper understanding of how strong behavioral advocacy can enhance emotional well-being, improve academic outcomes, and strengthen CASA’s role in a child’s educational journey. The original webinar recording is included in the course resources for reference and review.

This course is a resource based on the Sharpening Skills Webinar held on May 7, 2025 with John Thoms of Glass Half Full Behavioral Solutions. The training includes the webinar as one of the learning modules.
