CASA Advocacy for Fatherhood
In child welfare, often, there is more focus on engaging mothers than fathers, even though fathers are just as important for a child’s healthy development. CASA advocacy can help fathers understand the great value they have in their children’s lives and best interest advocacy is incomplete when we don’t engage with the father’s and their families on our cases.
We were honored to welcome Kenneth Thompson, Fatherhood Program Specialist with DFPS, as a special guest. Kenneth shared creative and effective strategies for engaging fathers and their extended families—highlighting how meaningful father involvement can improve outcomes for children.
