Two STAR Zooms on Educational Advocacy in September

In September, as children and youth head back to school, the STAR team will host two webinars on educational advocacy. It is every CASA volunteer’s responsibility to inquire about whether a child’s educational needs and goals have been identified and met. An individualized approach to educational advocacy is dependent on each child’s educational level, abilities and challenges. We are excited to share valuable information and resources to support our CASA supervisors and volunteers who step up every time to ensure children in foster care receive the education and services they deserve.

Please join us for both webinars: College Knowledge for CASA Advocacy and a Local Program Panel Discussion on Educational Advocacy

College Knowledge for CASA Advocacy
Tuesday, September 16, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Join us for this special presentation for both CASA Supervisors and CASA Volunteers! Guest presenter, Jill Rivera, will join us to share everything you need to know to advocate for and support teens in foster care with college readiness, applications, financial support and more! Jill Rivera comes to us with a wealth of experience supporting youth in foster care from their first thoughts of college through enrollment and financial aid. You and your volunteers won’t want to miss this special presentation!
